BC

BC hung on to beat Boise State in the MPC Computers Bowl on the blue turf in Boise. The Eagles almost let BSU come back and take but a late interception in their own endzone locked up the win.

As a friend asked, yes this was one of the many meaningless bowl games but the action in the lesser bowls has been very exciting in the last few years. Posted by Picasa

Its A Go

We passed our home inspection and have made arrangements to pick up our new family member, Roscoe the red dog, tomorrow.

Our plan is to pick him up and take him for s short walk to wear off some of the energy he might have. After that we will introduce him to our other dogs at a neutral site, the firehouse. Roscoe already met Tater, who will be more his playmate than our older dog, Kramer.

Roscoe

Hopefully this will be the newest addition to our family, a rescue dog we will call Roscoe.

He is being fostered by some very nice people and their son is upset about having to give him up. Fostering dogs must be very difficult.

Roscoe looks so much like our dog Tater Tot that we wonder if they could be litter mates.

They met at the dog park in this picutre and bonded right away.

We have to get a home visit, which will be on Monday. We don't really know what they are looking for but people have been denied for working outside the home or not having a fenced yard. We have a fenced yard and we both work from home but there is no telling. Posted by Picasa

The Colts

There has been a lot of chatter about the Indianapolis Colts bid to run the table and then win the Super Bowl. This all may be moot as the Colts are losing to the Chargers right now.

The question is whether the Colts should sit their starters to rest for the playoff without regard to going undefeated or should they keep the pedal to the metal and risk injuries to key personnel?

The discussions that I have seen have a very all or nothing tone to them. Resting players too much has failed time and again in different sports. The idea I have not heard is pedal to the metal for three quarters of the game. It keeps everyone in game condition with 25% less chance of getting hurt.

On a bigger scale resolving an issue in the middle of two extremes is often a good way to go.
