Sox Tied For First

The Sox moved into a tie for first tonight beating the Yankees 5-3.

It was not that much of a nailbiter but we are guaranteed at least two more pepto games and maybe a third depending on the wild card.

Arachnoleptic fit (n.): The frantic dance performed just after you've accidentally walked through a spider web.

Amazing!

You probably know about this, but this plane's front landing gear was sideways. They had to fly around for two hours to burn off fuel before landing at LAX.

There was this little bit of flame but that was it. The pilot landed perfectly. The gear did not break but the tires disintegrated.

Amazing!

Fire Nerd

I found this picture while doing some research for our fire department. The truck is from southern California. It is similar to a Hummer used for search and rescue in Kauai that we saw on our last trip there.

I think these trucks are very neat, hence the term fire nerd.

1975 Red Sox


As I was watching the Red Sox beat the Angels tonight, ESPN sent Gary Miller up to the legends booth (I didn't know there was such a thing) to interview Fred Lynn and Luis Tiant. Holy cow.

All throughout the game Joe Morgan was recounting his memories of the 1975 World Series.

It was amazing to see Freddy and Luis and to hear Joe describe his World Series winning hit. Wow.
