Micah Owings
You probably have never heard of Diamondbacks pitcher Micah Owings. He has been having a fine, not great and really maybe not even a good, season but has often been the odd pitcher out of the rotation.Last night he blew it up against the Atlanta Braves. No he didn't pitch a no hitter he blew it up with his bat. He went 4 for 5 with two home runs, six RBI, eleven total bases and was a triple away from hitting for the cycle.
According to the Baseball Tonight crew on ESPN he was a gifted hitter in highschool. They made it seem like he holds every Georgia schoolboy hitting record. I don't know what records he really has but he can hit and the numbers from last night are great for anyone let alone someone who is only expected to successfully bunt twice a month.
